Metal Bridge over Arade River
Description
The original plan for the reinforcement of the bridge foundations envisaged the implementation of micropiles with tubes. Due to the existence of loose boulders of limestone at the base of the pillars and abutments, which could cause difficulty in establishing the cover of the reinforcement, we proposed an alternative solution consisted in the execution of Jet-grouting columns from the competent ground to the base of pillars with continuous filling of the loose boulders zone and reinforced with high strength bars of 57 mm diameter and sealed inside the columns.
